Les Rubans de l'intime

On the occasion of the Saint-Étienne Design Biennale, the Museum of Art and Industry will honor the productions of Saint-Etienne ribbons manufacturers in the lingerie-corsetry field, from the end of the 18th century to today.
In an anthropological approach around the notion of intimacy and the demonstration of the body, the exhibition will present pieces of fine lingerie (corsets, stockings, corsets) but also sheaths and restraints, revealing all the specificities of ribbon production for lingerie.
Creations from famous houses (Chantal Thomass, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Aubade, Etam, Lejaby, Lise Charmel) will punctuate the entire exhibition.
