20th Anniversary Acquisitions of the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac

The exhibition presents the acquisitions of the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, from 1998 to 2018, curated in an innovative manner, that leads the public from the “classical” exhibition room to the institution’s backstage. The aim here is to highlight the exceptional effort of enriching national collections starting back when the museum was still a project, to familiarise the public with the acquisition process, by revealing the curators’ thought process and by describing all steps prior to the arrival of the works in the museums’ collection and until being exhibited.
